Jerry McPeake began his legal career in 1984 with the Jackson, Mississippi law firm of Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC as a runner and legal assistant. He became a paralegal in 1987 and worked in that capacity for over 17 years at various law firms in both Mississippi and Colorado. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College in Paralegal Studies with a minor in Business Administration. In 2004 Jerry completed his Master’s Degree in Legal Administration at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. After receiving his Master’s degree, Jerry became the administrator at the Denver law firm of Ogborn, Summerlin & Ogborn, LLC, where he oversees all aspects of the firm’s management. Jerry has been a member of ALA since August 2004 and has served on the Mile High Chapter’s Board of Directors since 2006. He was chair of the MHC Education Committee during the 2007-08 board year, Co-Chair and then Chair of the MHC Membership Committee in 2009-2010. Jerry is also an adjunct professor in the MSLA program at DU where he teaches an online class in the Operational Aspects of Law Office Management. Born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1965, Jerry made Denver his adopted hometown in 1994. He lives in Denver’s Montclair neighborhood with his 4 year old Bichon Frise, Willie. During his non-existent free time, Jerry enjoys reading, skiing, hiking, biking and numerous other activities.
