Dan Quillen began his career in Corporate America, working 22 years for the AT&T family of companies: Mountain Bell, AT&T, Lucent and Avaya. He filled numerous roles in those companies in Sales, Corporate and Technical Marketing, Training, and Human Resources. In 2001 he took early retirement and began looking for a second career. A friend who was an attorney at Holme Roberts & Owen suggested that Dan submit his résumé for their open Director of Human Resources position, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Immediately upon his entry into the legal industry, Dan joined the ALA and has worked on the Salary Survey committee for five years, several of which as the chair of that committee. He is currently the co-chair of the Bar Liaison committee.
Dan earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration with Marketing specialization, and he also earned a Masters of Business Administration with specialization in Human Resources. In 2001, he earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Dan grew up in Colorado Springs, but lived and worked in California, Idaho, Utah and New Jersey before returning to Colorado 21 years ago. Dan has six kids, one wife and two grandchildren. He enjoys writing (six books and numerous articles in national publications), camping, hunting, fishing and doing genealogy. He is also a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts and loves spending time with the boys.
